A New Years Day Lesson

I couldn't help myself, here's a third video.

A few of you have written me over this past week. I did get your emails and they were very much appreciated. I'm a little behind on writing back though, I promise to catch up in the next few days.

I'm also WAY behind on the blogs... I'll be catching up on these too. I'm sorry that I've been less than attentive to each of you. I'm a better friend that I've exhibited recently and I sincerely apologize for failing to show that!!!

The video attached to this blog.. well.. it was a much needed slap across my face! That young man, he's amazing! What an incredible inspiration!! I got the video in an email today, I think God knew I desperately needed to see it!!

Happy New Year y'all! We will ALL succeed in 2009 because we WILL make it happen!! Many blessings, much love, and the utmost of respect to each of you! ~Angie

Thanks for posting this Angie! I have never seen this guy before but WOW does he have a story to be told.

Sure made me stop and think and count my many many blessings.

Ann, he could have thrown in the towel too many times to count over his 25 years of life, be he chose to never bow to defeat! I've seen other videos with him swimming, eating, getting himself his own glass of water, etc... there is nothing he can't do for himself!

So many of us have been so discouraged lately, but ya know what, we CAN accomplish it all.. we just have to believe!!

Happy New Year Ann & Family!

Wow Angie that video really is an inspiration for all of us. That guy seems happier than all of us. I needed to see that as well so a big thank you sharing it! Happy New Year everyone. Let's get back up just like this happy little guy with not arms or legs. What an inspiration.

Jim, smiles are infectious. I think it's about time we start infecting everyone again with a little taste of joy! Nick may be without limbs, but right now he's a bigger person than many of us! I agree with you, we need to get back up, dust ourselves off, and start being happy again!!!

Outstanding! Perspective is everything in life and what an example he sets. Life guarantees us nothing and it's up to us to make something of it. Wonderful video!

He looks like he may have been a Thalidomide baby. There were babies born back in the 50's and 60's, particularly in England, with this kind of birth defect from a nausea drug their mothers took. But of course, the drug was eventually pulled. Anyway, he's terrific and it's good to see you around here, Angie.

Happy New Year Sue!!

In another video of his that I watched, he said they could find no medical reason as to why he had been born without limbs.

Since he's 25 and was born in Australia, he doesn't really fit the demographic of the Thalidomide babies. I had never heard of Thalidomide before, and the probable cause of that condition, thank you for enlightening me!

I'm going to post a second video. Him speaking is very very interesting.
